Hello! I’m Jacob Barnes, an industrial automation specialist currently working for Coca-Cola as well as a full-time student with Western Governors University. I love all things tech, and am constantly learning about new technologies and how to utilize them.
About Me
I have spent the last 5+ years working in industrial manufacturing and have grown to love every bit of it. From electrical wiring and troubleshooting, to developing PLC logic and designing HMI screens. I have traveled to customer facilities and have helped commission, troubleshoot, and start-up many machines. Recently my tasks involve making improvements to existing production machinery and equipment as well as designing upgrades. Helping out maintenance and production to keep machines running, and when they inevitably stop, I make sure they get back up and running in a timely and safe manner. In recent months I have decided to go back to school for Cyber Security and Information Assurance to further my knowledge in the IT field. Previously I had gotten my A.A.S in Information Technology with emphasis in Database Development and really enjoyed my studies. Now I have a renewed passion for cyber security and am attending school full time as well as pursuing certifications. In my free time I’ve also taken a liking to working on my home server and learning about whatever I can get my hands on.
